Imagine walking across the temporary bridge to the Church of the Salute on 21 Nov ? An important event for Venetians in the winter months. Rather like the Redentore in July this is a celebration of the ending of the plague. Venice in winter holds a magical quality. Both quiet and slightly mysterious. I feel you can claim to know this city if you have walked the calles in the mist  We had a fantastic time, arriving in spectacular style on the Orient Express in a thunder storm. The apartment was lovely and so convenient for everything. We loved popping to the bakers every morning to collect our panini alla noci . Picola Perla was everything we wished for and you had thought of everything we could possibly need. We would definitely like to return in the future and will definitely recommend it to our family and friends,
