Quick reply from the train!- thank you SO much for everything. It's the little touches that make such a difference: the proper crockery and Venetian cookery book and ample supplies of dishcloths etc! (and of course the prosecco...)
I too hope we have the chance to come back. Thank you so much for lending us your space!
Sarah and James

Oh, we have had such a lovely time, even a 2 hour delay on the return with my friend BrianAir couldn’t eclipse it, just more time for the magic to seep in.
Today has been full on, I shall be in touch as soon as I am clear to toast Piccolo Perla and all who dream with her.
 Many thanks.

Dear Valerie,

We have had another lovely stay in our favourite city, made all the more special thanks to 'Piccola Perla', and we look forward to a return visit as soon as we are able.  The weather this time was very mixed, with more rain than we have experienced before, however, that did not deter us in the least, and, as our daughter remarked, "you have to experience a place in all climates, to feel you know it".  We think we may just give winter a miss 'tho; coming from the Pennines we feel we have a vast experience of severe winter weather!!
It was lovely to have the opportunity to be 'Venetians' for a week, and to have 'the little pearl' as our base, with freedom to come and go was superb.  Thank you for allowing us this opportunity, you really do have a little gem.
Cheers & Ciao!- Sue and Ian x

We had a wonderful Golden Wedding week in Piccola Perla, and we were impressed by the amount of useful information  you provided about the apartment, the locale and the amenities. The apartment was lovely, the location was very quiet, yet very convenient for so many of Venice’s attractions and Venice was as beautiful as ever.
the end of the week when we were caught up in the delays and disruptions caused by the Icelandic volcano, thank you for your consideration and help.  We hope to have the chance to come back some time.
Ann & Geoff.

We had a lovely few days in the aptly named Piccola Perla! It was just like staying with friends rather than a rented apartment... Having all the trappings of home - books, CDs, everything to hand made it a really relaxing and friendly break, and the location made us feel like Venetians for a few days! We made full use of our vaporetto tickets as we were so close to the water.

"Lovely apartment, at last we feel we have lived , even for a little while, in Venice. Loved the silence."
David and Anne

"So glad that there was such a favourable response from The Guardian letter, it worked out well for everyone and I'm glad I thought of writing, although a little surprised that it actually got printed.

We found the best way to explore in Venice is just to wander and get lost-you will stumble upon many hidden delights. Piccola Perla is ideally situated and does indeed live up to its name."

"Jamie ( nearly four months) and I, have really enjoyed much about Venice. This holiday for us, a last minute gift, was a venture into the unknown. Having this small but perfectly formed apartment has made life with a baby on holiday possible."
Jess and Jamie

" As veggies who do not eat fish, we found restaurant food a bit limited, so were glad to be able to do our own thing."
Peri and Alan

"So relaxing and lovely to have a (temporary) home of our own."
Becky and Enzo

"Mum has been in ecstasy to have us all on holiday, lured by the prospect of Venice"
Flora

"My only advice would be not to venture out for a brief late night stroll, after a few glasses of wine, without a map. You too might unfortunately find yourself an hour and a half later at the Rialto bridge..."
Olivia

"Arrived in thick snow...lovely location"
June and Paul

"Our visit to Alberoni beach on the Lido was a nice change from the city, but too hot to stay long"
David and Margaret

"On a visit from Brisbane, Australia. If the children don't sleep I can recommend half a glass of red wine before bed! worked a treat"
Virginia, Angus and Hamish

"We all had a wonderful time, still swaying from the vaporetto ride. I had almost forgotten everything about Venice since my last visit 22 years ago, and it was a delight to revisit with my husband and younger son. We spent the last day at the Guggenheim (wonderful) and the Giardini (awash with the perfume of Trachelospermum) and the delicious flavours of home made zabaglione ice cream)."
Hilary

"Magical evening walk between Piccola Perla and San Marco, through driving sleet and snow... wish we were here longer"
Harriet and Tom

Angus invites everyone to play with the lovely yellow football in Campo Bandiera E Moro"
Karen

"The trip to Pallestrina was a real treat and a surprise, for somewhere so close to Venice the island was wild and unspoilt, cheap freshly caught fish too"
Jane and Mick

"Chipped a plate, flooded the bathroom, blew the electrics. Apartment is brilliant mum"
Thea and James

"Some of the very best restaurants in Venice are all nearby, Corte Sconti one of the best, Al Covo a gem and Do Forni wonderful. Returning as I have been studying the culinary calendar and there is some interesting lagoon food available in October, our third visit to Piccola Perla"
Judy and Paul

We had a wonderful stay in Piccola Perla. Thank you so much for the welcoming bottle and everything was just perfect! The weather was bright but very cold (compared to our home in Nice) and the festivities were great, wonderful markets etc. Thank goodness there wasn't too much commercialism - many of the restaurants don't decorate so it wasn't too overtly Christmas. We enjoyed a fantastic meal( and pianist) at The Metropole Hotel on Christmas Day. A really special occasion.

I was woken up on Boxing Day to the sirens of Aqua Alta. A real adventure.
Julie

I've been singing the apartment's praises since my return... a great deal of effort has obviously gone into making a lovely homely place with attention to detail and a real feeling of quality.

In all my husband and I have been impressed a 100%. More than happy to contribute a glowing reference"
